Yeah people have PM'd me a lot about this one (thanks btw) but I still cant seem to get it.
People have told me the technique "I of the I-------" and the thing to use the technique on (pointed to by the colours), but it still just comes out as gibberish no matter how I apply it.
For example:
hafbd
zjxkm
eostf
ecfh
nloh
ftse
foffofstzesonofottotznofof
fffsstefostttnsf
FYI that's just the results, not including the pages of calculation.
I'm literally following the procedure as it's written but it's not working.

no guessing here
so I guess you are totally wrong...
So "son of Otto" is just a coincidence...? Okay.

i assume that you solved previous levels of course
I managed to figure out the solution to each part of them, but I didnt fill in ALL the gaps to do it.
So back to my earlier question, I asked if I need to fill in ALL the gaps and someone said "no, the solutions are enough".
Which means that it's not the numbers from the squares, but numbers from the actual solutions themselves. We already know how to do that from many other levels beforehand.
Thing is... that isn't working at all. I dont want to bomb this thread with pages of code, but basically, the only thing that came out of all that was 'Son of Otto', which "Isn't a coincidence" according to Beezqp.
Thing is... "Son of Otto" also doesn't lead to the solution so...huh?! None of those names work and nothing in there fits the 'colour' theme of the level.

You should go to a doctor and ask for cutting a part of your brain out.
35 is the easiest level from 30 to 40. And you complicate it like a woman (no offence, Tynka )
Edit: Nope, even the Pyjama Monkey Guy can't help me with this one.
I've tried re-tracing my steps from 35 onwards, taking 'the simple uncomplicated approach'.
(Note: All of this is from the thread.)
So...
35
"Insanity"
---
"Say 10"
---
Back to 35
---
"More!"
---
Get numbers from the solution titles
Run the numbers through the technique from the old level
Get 'Son of Otto' in the middle of a load of jibberish
Nothing related to 'Son of Otto' is anything to do with the solution (but it's "not a coincidence"...?!)
Still stuck
Keeping it simple isn't working. It just isn't working.
Edit 2:
I think this level may be broken. Please do not PM me the solution.

But the technique from the older level is all about changing numbers to letters.
So... how do I use the technique from the old level that uses numbers, without using numbers?

I'm now certain this level is broken or missing a step or something, so can someone just PM me the solution or a clear explanation of it please?
could you please stop saying that a level is broken when you don't even know the solution?
Okay, well lets say that for the levels I have solved, I have found some parts that are broken, IE something needs to happen with nothing at all pointing for it to happen (EG: the grammar change of the solution to level 20).
I thought this was looking like another broken level, but you're right, I'll wait till I've solved it to comment that for definite. (see Edit)

asking for answers is against rules and you know about it...
Well, I wasn't wanting a direct answer; That would be pointless without understanding it.
I'll fix the post.
Edit:
Okay, got it. Finally.
Sorry I spoke too soon about this particular level.
This level is not broken, and is actually quite a clever level. It has multiple layers of red herrings, but you actually have to chase the red herrings to get to the solution. The thing that completely threw me off is the false hint in the older level.
Understanding the technique/method is key to solving it. Like Beezqp said, it's a lot simpler than I thought.
I actually noticed that "thing" --- so I knew the answer right away.
My guess for the logic... PICTURE combined with TITLE provides reference to an older clue from an older level. That older clue tells you what to do. The number of the older level is in a ---.
Right?
Ironically, it took me longer to find the "false" 36 and the "---" redirect. At least now I understand how Beezqp wanted people to find the starting point.
If I understand it correctly -- simple level, but maybe a bit underclued at certain points of the "follow the red herring until you know what to do" logic. I still like it though, it's neat.
I did "the most obvious thing" to find a false level, then repeated, only to be taken to a previous level. I noticed a --- which the two levels have in common.
I am also aware that another, further-back level may have something to do with it; I can see how the technique used there might be used again, this time on something other than numbers, but I can't see where to apply it.
Don't think too much here.
Overthinking will kill your progress.
This level is easy if you are on the right track.
Hard if you aren't.
I had to "work the logic backwards", since I pretty much knew the answer before I even started...
So... good luck!
(don't know if this is too obvious, but I can't figure out a different way to give a good hint...)
Hmm, thanks, but unfortunately for me I didn't know the answer before I started, and I still don't!
I think I know the method; it would make sense with the hints so far. But when looking for something to apply it to, should I search here, or on a previous level(s)?
The moment you were... ahem... sent backwards... it's the moment where the EXACT starting point is revealed. Then...
Hint 1: don't overthink.
Hint 2: look carefully at my previous post... if you can find the right *things* to get level 35's answer from... my previous post tells EXACTLY what to do.
just to make sure - fake 36 is just a hint how to get real 36 and is not solvable (in any way other than going foward to go backwards)?
