I was trying to be smarter than the riddle, actually, which made me use the -1 clue in the wrong place. I overthought this.
Hint: reformat your results first, THEN once the numbers have "lost their individuality", only THEN apply the -1 clue. Otherwise your gibberish will not have the answer in it.

Has this level been changed in any way? I don't see this "-1" thing that's supposed to be in the source. Or is there another page I need to find? I found the perfect reality and the associated hs, but no others.
No other pages needed, IIRC. Open the source and scroll down a little bit, you should find the -1 clue. It's a bit of a shoddy clue, actually, but you WILL find it.
You may have to SCROLL down a little bit, for me it's just out of range of my screen resolution. Scroll down to the end and there's the clue, buried in useless exclamation marks.
Beware: the clue is really shoddy. If you're sure you're doing everything correctly, but not getting anything reasonable, misapplication of this clue is probably why.

Well, I've seen it now. It's just that the first time I looked down there, I didn't see it. And then I looked in the exact spot where I'd already looked before, and well, yeah, it was right there.
You'll probably see what it means when you've done all the other steps in the level. The moment you try the final conversion and see that it doesn't work... that's when you'll know what the clue means.
Big problem is that there's no information about the timing of when to apply it, but the meaning itself will be very straightforward. For now, don't bother -- do everything else first. The clue is very much related to the final conversion, which won't work unless you do what the clue says.
I think I know what 'realities' this level pertains to, but I can't find the 'perfect reality' or the first HS. I believe I need to convert what were once useless into the perfect reality. I think I need a nudge here.
