This one is quite long and involved. Got the (final?) hint screen which proves that the squares were decoded properly (although there was one subsquare I couldn't fill in), so 624/625 I guess.
Apparently it's not yet the end of the level, though. Perhaps I need to compress my answer a bit.
EDIT: Compressed, and got a hint screen telling me I have the beginning.
EDIT: Man that was sneaky! Onto 55.
This level totally drained my energy, though -- calling it a night.
Losing my half-done notes for 54 made me rage so hard that I decided to redo them and in the process started figuring out other things... and I actually finished all of the numbers today! The colors can be difficult to recognize, but, still, it was surprisingly smooth sailing once I figured out how to do the tricky RED ones. (Speaking of red... I agree with Rubix, 624/625. If I wanted to fill that remaining square, I'd just write "NaN" and call it a day. )
Nice 5/5/5/5/5 puzzle, no "extra" rule-breaking squares, you just have to be careful.
Right now I'm calling it a day, 624/625 done, that's gotta count for something. I will continue tomorrow, so I'm asking a few questions about the next step.
To apply the numbers to the text:
1. Is the method for getting the "needed" numbers the same as for getting the "answer" in 34? If not, then will that method at least get me an HS?
2. Do I reorient everything "normally" and get numbers in the "normal" order or do I keep everything oriented as-is and get numbers in this "disoriented" order? I think I should keep things disoriented, because otherwise it wouldn't have to be disoriented... but the orientation could be a red herring just to mess with us.
One of the 625 squares is special, very distinctively so. If you can figure out what goes in that square, you can get a hintscreen, which will confirm the answers to both of your questions, making things much clearer.

Sonuvabitch. That's not directed to you, btw, that's just me... malfunctioning.
Wow, Beezqp, that was really mean. And all this time I thought that thingy is just a GIMP lighting effect to make the picture look prettier.
Only problem is, now I'm even more confused... if that's even possible. But hey, at least I have new information now. Thanks.
EDIT: So, if I "keep things simple", I think I understand the HS the only "simple" way possible. I'll wait for Xanax's reply on my 624/625 issue just to be sure, though.
Cruel as hell, plus that last step was fucking unfair. Seriously, if I have edited out for a surprise-ruining spoiler I should NOT be getting 404 after edited out for a surprise-ruining spoiler. It's simple to figure out, but man did that feel like a slap in the face. Or was that intended? This is hell(ix), after all.
Xanax PMed me a way to fill in all 625 squares, but, honestly, it requires such inelegant bending of the rules for the red squares that I'm sticking with my rule that produces 624/625 but works for all red squares properly.
Still, this is great. After all, this is a brilliant, brilliant level.
Excuse me for a knee-jerk reaction, I actually like this part so much now that I'd like to keep it a surprise for other players as well.

The words are so obvious that giving HS for them would be assuming lack of intelligence of the solver.

Yeah, I thought it was fair (and more than that, actually - well-made) that --- gave a 404. I mean, what else would there be to write other than "yeah, but no"
Yeah, I thought it was fair (and more than that, actually - well-made) that editing my quote to keep this a surprise for others -- VisD, could you do the same when you see this? at once gave a 404. I mean, what else would there be to write other than "yeah, but no"
I think an ellipsis would be enough. That would be enough of an indication of "yes, but not completely". Though that was a knee-jerk reaction. Now that I'm thinking about it, I actually like it the way it is. It's such a sudden slap to the face, but it's a good one.
May I PM somebody for a confirmation of my numbers?
I feel like I made a mistake somewhere. I can deduce some words but not all parts do make sense to me.
I also noticed this 624/625 thing mentioned above. So apparently I misunderstood the rules of that type of square?

Sure, you can PM me. I’m always available at Ninth Hell.
