Part A...
On both of the pictures, some of the arrows are pointing not directly at specific numbers, but between them, which makes figuring out possibilities a lot more difficult.
Obviously, the two pictures just beg for a comparison, but no fruitful results so far. Are the numbers actually relevant? |

Indeed... thanks to someguy's help.
Hint for others: even if what you're doing looks like nonsense, take your time to draw it. This helps on all three parts, but *especially* on the third. |

The extension one (if it's the same one I'm thinking about) is correct.
You have the right way of deciphering the source of 59A... now figure out where the clue is pointing you to. |

The source should tell you everything you need to know to find the key. Beware: some browsers insist on treating it as an image, even though it's not, so you may see a blank page or an error message about how the image can't be displayed. Make sure to download the key instead. |

The HS you got isn't strictly useless. It tells you a little about what 2k actually means. Just a very simple number property that means it's "right".
The opposite, however, isn't wrong. As Beeqzp rightfully states, you can't even imagine how odd it is.
Once you figure out what the opposite is and how to use all this, find the longest path through the maze that satisfies these hints and continue on with the rest of the level.
The "wordless HS" is something that happens after you solve the maze and figure out what to do with that solution, so there's no way to get it prematurely. |

Got this. Is the "hole" page the ending screen for this or should I attempt to go further somehow? It seems like an ending screen, though, since there are literally no clues or anything like that.
Damn, that was a nice one. Very clever. |

Well... returning to this, I did finally get the file. I was going completely the wrong way about it initially, the real way was actually simpler.
Now the file is making me real confused. I suspect a certain method, but am getting a very dumb result from it. |

They should give you the right machine. It's not a word. If you type them in, you should get a confirming HS... so do it. Check if you're right, then use google.
Second picture... not sure if that bit is even there by now, that level was slightly different before and has been changed to keep compatibility with newer versions of Windows, so... yeah. The general solution is still the same, regardless. Find the machine, find the key and use what you have... |

Sincerely hoping that's just a typo on the last word and not something extremely complicated within the level. It should be "there" instead of "three", right?
So if it's really not gibberish now... that's actually REALLY good new info, I guess. Thanks! |

...
Any actual hint? Like, what are we even supposed to be changing here to make it work? The method of extracting letters and other symbols from the picture? A complete re-interpretation of what the instructions mean? A shift in a visual "point of view"? Something else entirely? How important is the source code, anyway -- just for flavor or extremely vital?
This is why "gibberish answers" are so nasty -- it's difficult enough when you're barking up the wrong tree, but in this level you can't even mentally check if it's even a tree in the first place. |

Agreed. Since the correct answer is probably gibberish (like it was the previous two times), there's no way to mentally check whether it makes sense, so it's kind of just trial and error now. |

Have you tried simply writing what's on the picture? If you wrote it correctly, you'll get a hint screen confirming you spelled it correctly.
Then google... and you should find something. |

So you've seen the connection between the two pictures? Good for you! But these are only two possible "permutations", so to say and both of them are kinda weird. What about others, though? Can you find a better permutation?
There won't be any more pictures, but once you find "it", you won't need a picture. You'll know for sure. |

You'll probably see what it means when you've done all the other steps in the level. The moment you try the final conversion and see that it doesn't work... that's when you'll know what the clue means.
Big problem is that there's no information about the timing of when to apply it, but the meaning itself will be very straightforward. For now, don't bother -- do everything else first. The clue is very much related to the final conversion, which won't work unless you do what the clue says. |

You may have to SCROLL down a little bit, for me it's just out of range of my screen resolution. Scroll down to the end and there's the clue, buried in useless exclamation marks.
Beware: the clue is really shoddy. If you're sure you're doing everything correctly, but not getting anything reasonable, misapplication of this clue is probably why. |

No other pages needed, IIRC. Open the source and scroll down a little bit, you should find the -1 clue. It's a bit of a shoddy clue, actually, but you WILL find it. |

First part done (thanks, someguy), completely ridiculous and stupid. Don't be afraid of gibberish.
Part two. Tried the same exact ridiculous approach, didn't work. I may have misread, but the fact that there are now two blocks makes me think it's a bit more complicated now, with some twist.
EDIT: Part two done. Simple, though the handwriting is a bit misleading. HINT: combining the two boxes together will not work, trust me.
Third part now. Two pages. Both are confusing as heck... |

Posting mostly to see Tynka's message in full. I know what the URL refers to, but I don't think it's time to apply that little "code" right now, because I don't yet have anything suitable to decode... although I did get an HS by remembering something related to all this.
I've found what the picture refers to and got a confirming HS.
Not yet sure what it all means.
Huge thanks for using 43's ambience again (without the cries this time), anything with "Scuttling in the Dark" becomes instantly more awesome just by having those indescribable sounds in the background.
EDIT: 3 HS, one for the source of the picture, one language HS (seems peculiarly useless right now) and one that tells me to find something. I'm pretty stuck now, I can't find what the HS tells me to find. Is it related to the picture's source? |

/facepalm/
That's what I get for locking myself into a COMPLETELY wrong mindset and not being able to budge. I even understood the numbers, but dammit...
For future solvers: don't try to put the sliders into some mysterious shape that should tell you something. It's not about the final curve at all, their eventual position is meaningless. Forget about that.
Also, there are more numbers than sliders and yes, that's important. Keep following the instruction and don't bother with trying to make a shape, just... follow. And visualize the path you took to get there.
Thanks, someguy.
EDIT: Even simpler: "move the lines" is a bit of a misnomer. "Trace the lines" would be better, I think.
EDIT 2: OH COME ON, of course I had the right idea in the sing part but dismissed it because it gave me crap after a few ambiguities... threw me off. And OF COURSE someguy figured it out first -- I think in the epihellix group he was the first one to solve each and every step of this level! This is definitely a level that refused to click for me, all the way through. It's a good one, but really not the type of riddle I'm any good at. |

The word from the picture has a certain connection to the past. That connection will help you convert it into a different word with the grid. Once done, you'll get another page. On that page, be observant. Use the grid again for the final answer. |

I'm referring to the bottom sliders only, yes. Wheels are already spun in position and I got a bunch of HS from them. Including one that says "b** e********" which REALLY puzzles me, but I guess I have to move the sliders first in order to understand.
The wheels gave me a sound-related thing... and I can see how the sliders might be related to that. But two sliders aren't there... and even if they were, knowledge of the "term" given by the wheels doesn't seem to help much with the sliders.
I have no idea what to "visualize" in order to see. |

OK, even with the help of the epihellix guys, I think we're stuck here. One of us (not me) found how to apply the "sound" to the wheels and then we got something...
5 HS -- the most obvious one telling us the "state of something", and then there's four more HS, one of which is a peculiar "omission" that didn't give me anything useful so far, especially because I can't figure out any other word that would replace this one. That's all from the wheels.
I didn't move the lines yet (on the bottom), nor do I know how to, nor do I know what to do with them even when they will be in the right positions. |

The Epihellix guys found most of the hintscreens and then I wanted to go to sleep... after which my groggy mind connected the right hintscreens together and gave me the solution.
There's one hintscreen that's basically an instruction (albeit a snarky one), confirming exactly what you need to do. Then you need to obey the instruction very, very literally. You'll probably get another HS, telling you that you're not using it correctly... so try to be even more literal than before.
It's very simple and very silly. Don't try to do anything complicated, it won't work.
EDIT:
Muzozavr's "Beyond the Rim" Hint Circle: 72
This level really doesn't want to tell you anything... so force it to.
Then obey the clue as literally as you can. If it's incorrect... then be even more literal. |

OK, cool level and the third step is genius... second is too pedantic -- I knew instantly what the game wanted from me, but only roughly -- had a hard time figuring out how to tell it to the game. But nice puzzle, still.
EDIT:
Muzozavr's "Beyond the Rim" Hint Circle: 71
Obey as closely as you can.
Then, obey as literally as you can.
(To prevent misunderstanding -- it's three for three, not three for four or four for four)
Then find a torch... and in the context of what you had before, answer the riddle. |

EDIT:
Muzozavr's "Beyond the Rim" Hint Circle: 70
A and B are useless, so don't bother... what about C? So many lines, so little sense...
... just flip it, will you? get the letters and read them...
... and what an odd bunch of letters they are, many repetitions.
Repetitions.
Repetitions, repetitions.
Repetitions, repetitions, repetitions... |
