If you have the key, there are only two pages needed. First, connect the key to its source, then try to do the same thing with the door. There is ONE little detail on the key, that can be very helpful to solve it.

I have tried every combination of the map on the key inscription, ---, and every other bit of text. I have tried "reuniting" the key inscription with ---, with no results.
Obviously, this is not the solution.

The only semi-legible phrase that I have found is 'Pie*****', but that hasn't worked anywhere either.

I understand that this riddle has been checked over and over, but at this point I'll bet that it hasn't been 'checked' by anyone who isn't part of the development team, as clearly the last step of this level requires me to do something that isn't suggested anywhere in the level text, source code, images, or anything. Levels 1 to 13 are fine, although I did have to look at this forum quite regularly, which is not a problem.

However, level 14 has a step that seems to be so obscure that, in my opinion, is not logical or suggested at all, which means it isn't designed properly. Earlier, Uncle Drak in this thread said that "the last step is gay". I have to agree.

I appreciate this game and the advice people have given on this level, but seriously, none of the advice has actually helped.
I know I need to use the map somewhere.
I know the key needs to be united with the door (obviously, keys dont open doors from far away! :roll:

).

But can someone please give a straight answer to me in PM or, preferably, here in the thread so that newer players dont go through the analytical hell I have endured over the last three days. Here's three days:

By 'answer', I meant like a 'clear, direct hint'. I wouldn't play at all if people were just giving me the final answers!

I was not accusing anyone of anything game-design flaws. I know that I am not part of the 'first wave' of people to play this, and therefore many people have solved the puzzle without help or inside knowledge. Over the many misspent years of game-playing, I have seen too many good games ruined by having steps or parts 'missing' to solve the problem.
I'm now glad to see that Inward Hellix isn't one of those (I can only speak up to level 15, of course). I was getting paranoid that the game was flawed, but my faith has been restored.

Level 14 may become a pain, 'cause it's huge... It's awesome, though, and it's not the hardest, believe me.
You got TP, right? And also numbers, I guess... Have you found the connection among "ThE ***", numbers and the key? If you did, just use it in the right place. Where keys are commonly used, where you haven't used anything yet (you're still locked, remember?

Don't be afraid, masses of people solved this level before. There's one single detail, which is not as obvious as it should be but this is at the very end of the riddle, where everyone know what the answer is in fact. It's almost sure that there are no mistakes from the riddlemaker in IH. It's checked by me and 12 people who made it through the game and helped me to eliminate every fault.

Yes, I found the connection between the numbers, ThE***, and the key.
I'm assuming the 4 numbers is the thing people are calling "the map". Unfortunately, I have already used the map on the text "where keys are commonly used" in many different ways, and the results just seemed to be nonsense random letters. I could post or PM the results of this exercise, but it would just look like a two-year-old or a cat had just bashed the keyboard!

Finally, I solved it! :shock:

I just want to say a big thanks to Tynka, Beezqp, and pennylane for all their help in thread and PM.

Here's my say for newer players that jump into this bear-trap of a level:

1. Be patient. I spent three days on this, and I'm told that the worst is yet to come. This is the last level in Chapter I, which I'm guessing is why it's so tough! Chapter II's different style looks amazing and is definately worth the wait/work!

2. Have some graphics software at the ready. No... better than windows paint! You will need something like GIMP (as recommended in the game description) or Paint.NET (the one I used), both are free. You won't need to do anything very advanced. You might even be able to get by without any graphics software on this level, but it helps. A lot.

3. Once you've got "TP" and the numerical code, they are not "the map". They help you find it.
To save you the irritating hours I lost, I will say that at no point does the 4-digit numerical sequence ever repeat. If you're getting long strings of nonsense letters, then you are doing totally the wrong thing, and so doing it slightly differently will be a big waste of your time.
Just spot the relation between "TP" and the code, then use that relation to understand the key, then obviously use the key to understand the door. I hope that doesn't spoil it too much.

In the picture, the stairs are mirrored, and there are some letters and symbols that are mirrored on each side too. I wrote down what they were (or, at least, what I thought they looked like), but the letters don't form anything...

Okay, now I solved that part too, and got to the keyhole. I have found the "key on the keyhole" and the xy thing. The problem I have now is ehat to do with the key, and where the xy thing fits into this.

you can't imagine how close to the answer you're. Don't the left part of the key resembles you anything? Maybe something, that you've already come across? When you'll recognise this it will be obviously how to use the right part of the key.

If the 'key' or 'map' is a number sequence, sure, I've got a bunch of numbers from TP after adding to key, but I'm not sure if this is right at all because I tried applying this --- but that came out as gibberish. I've never been stuck on a level even after reading so many hints and I can't imagine the game getting easier so if anyone can offer a little bit of a vague piece of help.

I went through the majority of levels without Gimp or Photoshop. I only used Gimp twice.
You don't need to play with blending, layers and all of that if you're shifty like me haha.

Hey, I returned to this riddle after a couple of years and managed to re-solve what I had done without much trouble, and even got a bit further without having much trouble... this level is stumping me for the moment, though.

I am at 14.. and I came to the forum for some hints but it seems like everyone else here was able to complete this part of the level without any trouble. All the posts are like "I'm stuck at the first page... oh wait! I got it and now I'm on 14..." without any mention of trouble with the second page [14..].

So you've found all the parts of the puzzle... ---, etc., and you've found out about TP. You found the page at TP with the numbers... that page tells you how to read the key. Once you see how, go on and read the key... and then use it ---.

First off: this has been a wonderful diversion.

Second, I'm now on my second run through (I stopped at 14 about 3 years ago) and now I'm back. I'm again stuck at 14 though (after getting through the first 13 with minimal difficulty), and I don't know how to progress.

I've gotten the two to become one, and now am looking between the lines. However, looking between the lines is totally escaping me. I've tried looking at the arrangements on the common object they are based on, but that hasn't helped me at all. (there are no patterns I can discern)

These letters just don't seem to make sense.

And it seems like this isn't a particularly challenging section of 14., but I haven't been able to crack it yet.

Any help would be appreciated, PM or otherwise.

i hope i will find the last step...al those numbers and letters that does not make any sense to me...I noticed that the key has something inportant in it, and i know that is not by accident..and i started to mark those letters with numbers and started to applaying them all around the place..al i got is F***....and that is about it...am i suppose to applay them somewhere else or should i stick to my guts...maybe i'll sleep on it

Im stuck at 14... (three dots). I can see the key on the picture. Letter = Letter.
I did convert a word that i used on earlier steps, but i dont understand where to use this word.
I have an idea of what to do with x's and y's but im not sure how to do it.
And i dont really have any clue what everyone means with TP?
I also feel like im missing something from step 14..(two dots). The text on the door must mean something?

Most annoying part is that i did this level 3-4 years ago. Hope i can make it through this hell alive for the second time!

Edit: Now i'm stuck again, got the = bit from 14... and have been trying to apply with everything I can find but aint getting anything intelligible. Besides some naughty syllables, that seem like they should work (but don't), from a previous progression point.

Edit2: Nvrmnd on the naughty, naughty syllables, they were a mistake... Mixed up two adjacent letters...

Edit3: Yep, I don't have any idea where to put this =... Ive tried applying it forewards and backwards to any text i can find.- Power of posting, figured it out while making this edit.

I recently started playing again and have been whizzing through the first couple levels since I know them so well. And most definitely got stuck on 14....

I had been wracking my brain for a long time and finally decided to come to the forum to see if I could grab any hints from you all.

After perusing through 8 pages and not getting anywhere, I found myself staring at a post from myself:

IIRC, if you're on three dots, you have not found TP yet.

You have probably tried something very obvious with the letters=letters hint already, but got 404. That's because you didn't use the other hint you've mentioned. It tells you what not to change.

(idk, maybe this is almost too clear, but it's difficult to hint that part, it really is kinda obvious)
